The final issue of Jack Kirby's bold futuristic series closes on a genuinely unsettling note, with Joe Kubert's cover dropping OMAC into what the banner calls "The Place of Fear." The cover shows a menacing villain in an orange-and-yellow suit grabbing OMAC by the collar at gunpoint, while grotesque, monstrous creatures writhe in the foreground and loom from the shadows — the speech bubble making the threat grimly clear: "In a few minutes you're going to be one of them!" It's a striking send-off image for the One Man Army Corps, and with Kirby writing and drawing the interior alongside inker Mike Royer, this December 1975 issue is a satisfying cap to one of DC's most imaginative sci-fi experiments of the era.
