The issue contains two stories. In the first, Cott Winbee, forgotten in a brutal battle, awakens with his time running short and uses his last strength to bend his rifle backward to free his wrists, then leaps sideways to dodge Slater's bullets and ram into cases of ammunition to cause an explosion, with the sun setting on an empty camp as Winbee and the Kiowas scatter into the hills. In the second story titled "Outlaws of the West," a bounty hunter named Ab Tanney encounters a woman named Maria searching for someone, and his search leads him to a girl with mysterious ties to an outlaw named Flick Colby, who was sentenced to twenty years in Deer Lodge Penitentiary after a wound from a past encounter never healed properly, leaving him lung-stricken and desperate to escape.
