The third volume of Perriot and Merlet's Paci series takes the story to Rwanda, promising a narrative with serious weight and international scope. The cover sets a quietly tense mood: a lone man in a leather jacket walks away from an open-doored car along a dusty, overgrown road, the muted earth tones and deep reds of the surrounding vegetation giving the scene an uneasy stillness. Published by Dargaud in 2015, this is mature Franco-Belgian storytelling at its most atmospheric.
