In "The Perils of Pearl Pureheart," three mice—Jack, Henry, and Tom—take on the ambitious task of building a grand new home atop a high hill above Terrytown, only to rush the job with risky shortcuts. When a sudden hurricane strikes, their flimsy construction crumbles, leaving them in peril high above the ground. Mighty Mouse arrives to rescue them from their crumbling folly, but refuses to help rebuild—letting the mice learn the hard way that haste makes waste. The story, drawn in a classic 1954 style, features the ever-determined trio and their misadventures in a world where even the smallest mistakes can have big consequences. Cover by typeset.
