Paul Terry's Mighty Mouse Comics #59
In "Pureheart Perils, Italian Style," Mighty Mouse faces off against Oil Can Harry in a wild, globe-trotting chase through Italy, where Harry suspends Pearl Pureheart from the Leaning Tower of Pisa by a single strand of spaghetti. As Mighty Mouse battles swarms of lions in the ruins of the Coliseum, Harry unleashes chaos across Venice and even reawakens Mount Vesuvius—only to be sent soaring into the stratosphere by a sudden steam blast. Written by Tom Morrison and Bob Kuwahara and illustrated by Connie Rasinski with inks by the same, this 1955 St. John classic delivers cartoon chaos at its most delightfully absurd.
