Pep Comics #35

The Shield investigates the murder of Dr. Cole, following leads through an internal ether overdose and discovering the killer has connections to Dr. Cole's daughter; the investigation takes the Shield to multiple locations including Pierre's apartment and Dr. Martin's office where he finds the doctor dead. In a backup story, the Shield and a boy discover a magical apple tree that produces apples of increasing size, only to find a sign reading "Shrinking Tree" mysteriously appears on it. The issue concludes with an advertisement featuring Archie and his gang promoting Archie Comics as "the greatest, funniest comic book of the year."
