Phoenix #1
"Part One: Resurrection" kicks off Phoenix #1 with a pulse-pounding premise: Ed, repeatedly killed by alien forces, keeps returning stronger each time. After escaping their ship and surviving a brutal re-entry, he makes a desperate run to his girlfriend Denise’s apartment—only to find the alien suit fused to his skin, impossible to remove. When the aliens break in, the two are trapped in a fight they never saw coming. Written by Brendan Deneen and Jim Krueger, with bold artwork by Dean Zachary (pencils and inks) and vibrant colors by Mai, the issue’s cover by Dean Zachary captures the moment’s escalating dread.

Ed is killed by the aliens numerous times, but always comes back more powerful that before. He escapes the spaceship, survives re-entry without a spaceship and travels to his girlfriend's apartment. Ed and Denise find the suit he's wearing --given to him by the aliens-- will not come off nor can it be cut. Before they can do anything, the aliens blast their way into her apartment.
