Andy Wilson lives 30 miles from where atomic bombs are being tested. While collecting butterflies his dog Spot runs off into the testing ground. Spot is found but has to remain in isolation for a few days due to exposure to radiation. Meanwhile Andy gets a lesson on atomic particles, radioactivity and atomic energy from the scientists who found his dog.
