Lisa is drawn to a sad-looking man she has seen several times in the bar. She eventually discovers that he is a song-writer who dwells on his old girlfriend. He had written songs for her, but she was offered a contract to sing different types of songs. When she became a success, they had drifted apart. Lisa encourages Chris to resume his song writing. He starts to become successful as Gladys' career starts to slide. When he goes back to help her, Lisa fears she has lost him.
