After helping a little man to food and drink, Simpleton is rewarded with a Golden Goose. Those who attempt to touch Simpleton's goose become stuck to the bird (or each other) and Simpleton thus becomes the leader of a comical procession through the countryside. Eventually, the goose helps Simpleton win the love of a princess, but they are allowed to marry only after Simpleton accomplishes three seemingly impossible tasks.
