The Lawgiver falls into a deadly river. Jason and Alexander attempt a rescue, but the river is too strong for all of them. They are pulled into a cavern. After a great struggle the river slows down, but dumps them over a waterfall and into a jungle. Brutus is in hot pursuit. Jason, Alexander and the Lawgiver travel by raft to a friendly river settlement run by Gunpowder Julius. Brutus plans an assault upon the settlement at dawn, but is overheard by one of Gunpowder's apes. Brutus's forces are supplemented by mutant war machines: tanks. The settlement decimates the attackers. Brutus escapes.
