The fifth chapter of Image's darkly comedic Plush delivers one of the series' most striking covers yet — a teal anthropomorphic bird mascot, splattered with blood and wearing a dangling handcuff on one raised arm, looms over at least two battered, grimacing figures tangled beneath it in a vivid wash of hot pink. The contrast between the cuddly costume design and the very un-cuddly carnage around it captures exactly the twisted tension that has made this series so compelling. Wagner, Hillyard, Renzi, and Dukeshire bring the same bold, neon-drenched energy to issue #5 that fans have come to expect from this wild 2023 ride.
