The second volume of this French-language series from Glénat carries the subtitle Eleonora, and the cover sets a beautifully atmospheric tone — a dark-haired young woman in the foreground cradles in her palm a swirling figure of flame, with the warm-hued skyline of what appears to be an Italian city rising behind her. By J. Savey and P. Wachs, Poème Rouge blends mystery and passion into something visually arresting, and this 2003 installment looks like a compelling continuation of that vision.
