Porcelaine #3
Three figures dominate this elegantly composed Art Nouveau-style cover: a young woman in a deep blue military coat stands at the center, flanked by a darker-skinned companion to her left and a pale-haired figure to her right, all framed by ornate architectural detailing and a ghostly ship in the background. Writer Benjamin Read and artist Chris Wildgoose bring a distinctly atmospheric, gothic-tinged sensibility to this third volume, subtitled Mère (Mother), published by Delcourt in 2018. The measured tension in the trio's poses and the cool, restrained palette make this one of the more visually striking entries in the series.
