An anthology containing multiple crime stories. "Blood on Arkansas!" depicts a prison break at Tucker Prison Farm where trustee prisoners betray guards and escape with stolen cash, bonds, and securities in October 1921, planning to divide the loot into separate piles at a deserted barn. "Gerald Chapman, the Plunderer!" follows Chapman and his gang as they execute a mail truck robbery on Long Island, with Chapman posing as the driver to steal registered mail sacks containing valuables. A third story involves a woman named Sandy who becomes entangled with criminals after picking up a man in her car, leading to a murder at a restaurant called Slippy's.
