# Public Enemies #6 An escaped convict named Ben Victor flees a prison where he had been held for a crime he claims he didn't commit, and returns to a farmhouse seeking aid from a woman named Wendy. When officers discover his identity and arrest him based on fingerprint evidence, Wendy reveals that Ben is actually the twin brother of the real criminal Tom Collier, who had framed him years ago for a fifty-thousand-dollar theft. A separate story follows John Farr, a man on a winning gambling streak who is approached by an old man offering to sell him a confession to murder for one hundred thousand dollars; Farr refuses and later shoots the old man in self-defense, ultimately escaping with the signed confession and living freely under an assumed identity.
