Amy and Tom are engaged but he's sent to fight in Korea. She enlists as an Army nurse and also goes there. They meet in the war zone. Tom is afraid she'll be killed, but he's the one who's injured. He recovers but wants to marry Amy now and she refuses, not wishing to face the possibility of one of them dying. They are both caught up in the turmoil of battle and finally realize they love each other deeply.
