Red Sonja: Berserker #[nn]
In *Red Sonja: Berserker* #1 (2014), writer Nancy A. Collins and artist Fritz Casas launch a gripping tale of vengeance and loyalty, following the warrior as she returns to the city of Dinander after years of exile. Once a prisoner of Lord Pravus, Sonja is forced into the arena to battle wild beasts—only to face the snow bear she once raised, now wounded and chained. With bold storytelling and striking visuals by Fritz Casas and Mark Roberts, and a haunting cover by Joseph Michael Linsner, this issue sets a fierce tone for a story where past bonds and brutal justice collide.

Sonja rescues and raises a snow bear in Eiglophian Mountains. Years later in Dinander, she seeks work as a sword for hire but is thrown into jail for fighting by Lord Pravus. Pravus sells her to Valtus to be used in the arena to fight wild beasts. Sonja is pitted against her bear who recognises her. Together they fight free and flee to the forest. However the bear is mortally wounded. Sonja returns to Dinandar to feed Valtus to his beasts and to unleash the beasts on the citizens of Dinander.
