In "Ambush of the Merry Men," Robin Hood's band is infiltrated by four spies sent by the Earl of Wessex; when Maid Marian alerts Robin to the betrayal, he tracks the traitors to a secret tunnel and rescues his captured men. The second story, "Sir Guy's Worst Fate," depicts Sir Guy de Mandeville, a knight bound by a strict code of honor, jousting against Baron Corday; Sir Guy is defeated, and this humiliating loss proves to be a fate worse than death according to his own rigid principles.
Robin Hood faces a crisis when his Merry Men begin vanishing one by one, leaving Sherwood Forest shrouded in mystery and despair. When he discovers that the cruel Earl of Wessex and his tax collectors are bleeding the townspeople dry, Robin springs into action—but the situation grows more complicated when Maid Marian takes matters into her own hands by confronting the Earl directly at his castle. As Robin and his men work to outwit their enemies and protect the innocent, they discover that the Earl's ambitions may pose a threat greater than any they've faced before.
When a heated quarrel drives Little John away from Robin Hood's camp, the giant outlaw sets out to make amends—only to fall into the Sheriff of Nottingham's trap. Now Robin must race through Sherwood Forest to prevent his closest companion from meeting the noose, outwitting both the Sheriff and the treacherous Guy of Gisborne. It's a test of how far Robin will go to save one of his own, and whether the bonds of the Merry Men can survive even their darkest moments.
Robin Hood and his band arrive in the town of Boddington expecting a warm welcome, only to discover the townspeople have turned against them—blaming them for a series of robberies that have plagued the community. Desperate and hunted by an angry mob, Robin is rescued by Noel, the new bailiff, who believes in his innocence and offers shelter while hinting at a troubling truth: impostors have been committing crimes in Robin's name. Now Robin must uncover the identity of these false outlaws and clear his name before the town's rage consumes him.
Sir Guy de Mandeville is a jouster of unmatched skill—but his obsession with honor and reputation masks a hunger for combat against opponents he knows he'll crush. When a young man named Neville challenges his twisted code of chivalry at a royal feast, Sir Guy accepts a duel at the lists of Camden, confident as always in his superiority. What unfolds is a clash that forces the proud knight to confront a truth far more devastating than defeat.
