This issue contains two stories: "Cactus Brain," a humorous tale in which Cactus Brain takes his nephew Buster to school and nearly causes a disaster by splashing into a water hole, and the main feature "Rocky Lane Western," in which Rocky Lane confronts a criminal named Barker who is hiding out in a cabin; after a tense standoff, Rocky gains the upper hand and captures Barker. The issue also includes a "Roping 'n' Riding with Rocky Lane and Black Jack" text piece recounting an anecdote about Rocky and Black Jack encountering a temperamental bronc named Mustang during a horse race near Sacramento.
