Rod Cameron rides into an ambush set by trappers who have dynamited a beaver dam and stolen a gun show, planning to kill him with war paint-covered grizzly bears. As Rod fights for his life against the massive bears in the water, he uses his wits and gunpowder to overcome the deadly trap. The issue also includes a humorous backup story titled "Ten Gallon Tex Faces Facts," in which a vain cowboy named Tex is repeatedly insulted about his appearance but persists in seeking a romantic connection despite being told he resembles various unflattering objects.
