Fay was secretary-companion to a rich widow who was away in London for a week. Fay desperately wants to look stunning in the hope that she can get Tom to propose to her at the dance. She thinks Mrs. Barnett's diamond necklace would look marvelous with her dress so she takes it out of the safe. On the way home from the dance, Tom seems on the verge of asking her something important when she notices the necklace is missing. Her problems are magnified when she gets home to discover all the other jewels are also missing from Mrs. Barnett's safe.
