Romantic Secrets #29
In "The Gold-Plated Heart," a 1952 Fawcett romance thriller, Lila’s life takes a sharp turn when her engagement ends over money, leading her to take a position as a companion to the wealthy Scott’s ailing wife, Margaret. With Mike Sekowsky’s expressive art and Frank Giacoia’s sharp inking, the story unfolds in tense, shadowed moments as Lila begins to suspect Scott’s motives are far more sinister than they seem. Cover by an unknown artist, this issue captures a chilling psychological spiral in a world where trust is as fragile as gold-plated promises.
