This issue contains at least two stories. "The Boy with the Scar" depicts a young woman whose mother discourages her relationship with Budd Henderson due to a mysterious scar on his face, though he proves his devotion through patience and affection. "Love From the Old Country" follows a woman whose father made a promise years ago in his homeland that she would marry the son of an old friend; when the young man arrives from abroad, she must decide whether to honor her father's wishes or choose her own path, ultimately being freed from the obligation by a sympathetic authority figure who advises her to marry for love.
