“Blind Man's Buff”

In "Blind Man's Buff," factory worker Inez spins a web of lies to win a date with foreman Jim, fabricating a story about her struggling family. As their romance deepens, Jim’s growing concern over her supposed hardships leads him to offer help—until the truth comes out and their relationship hangs in the balance. A heartfelt tale of love, deception, and second chances, drawn with emotional precision by Bob Powell and lettered by Ed Hamilton, with a moody cover by Jon D'Agostino.

Factory worker Inez bets she can get foreman Jim to ask her for a date. She does, by telling him lies about her sick mother and impoverished student brother. They go out and eventually fall in love, but Jim keeps asking about her family’s problems and giving her money to help. When he learns the truth, Jim breaks up with her. Inez’s brother returns the money to Jim and explains that Inez is heartbroken. Jim comes back and they reconcile.
