“The Mouse and the Tiger!”

In "The Mouse and the Tiger!", Daphne finds herself caught between loyalty and danger as a ruthless dictator, Scudo, turns her beauty into a weapon of influence. When her actions unexpectedly weaken a band of brigands by making them abandon their weapons for love, she must face the consequences—while Bill’s fate hangs in the balance. Written by Derek Long and illustrated by Frank Langford, this 1960 tale from Amalgamated Press blends intrigue and tension in a story where charm proves as potent as force.

Daphne tries to take the blame to save Bill, but the dictator learns that Daphne's beauty instructions have caused the wives of the brigands to come down from the hills and the brigands are throwing away their rifles because they cannot face a life without womenfolk. So Scudo orders Daphne to stay in the country and orders Bill to be expelled.
