When rancher Josh Wall is knocked unconscious by a rockslide, his mules are left unattended on the treacherous Rangeland. Trigger, ever the steady hand, tracks them down and finds Josh, then teams up with Uncle Mike and Davey to secure the animals. A tense encounter with a bear and a crumbling bridge test their courage as they push deeper into the wild frontier.

In "Trigger Comes Home," the beloved horse Trigger is sent by Uncle Mike and Davey on a train bound for home, but a sudden storm and a mistaken brakeman’s error send him tumbling from a derailed car. Lost and alone, Trigger finds himself in Rancher Murdock’s corral, where he narrowly escapes being branded before fleeing into the wild—only to face a bear before finally making his way back to the safety of the ranch he knows.
