Jeff Lemire's Royal City has always excelled at quiet, intimate storytelling, and this cover for issue #11 captures that spirit perfectly — a figure in a layered cardigan clutches what appears to be a composition notebook to their chest, its familiar speckled cover rendered in Lemire's expressive, watercolor-washed linework. There's something tender and a little guarded about the pose, hands gripping the book tightly as if it holds something personal and irreplaceable.
