Ashley Wood's cover for this 2002 Image series captures the gritty soul of "hard-edged crime fiction" perfectly — one lean, wild-haired figure leaps dynamically through a sepia-hazed urban atmosphere, revolver in hand, while a second, broader figure looms in the foreground, cigarette in mouth and coat pulled tight. The duo of Sam and Twitch has rarely looked this rawly atmospheric, rendered in Wood's distinctive ink-wash style against a crumbling cityscape.
