Secret Romances #23

This anthology issue contains at least two romantic stories. The first involves Fern, a gambler's daughter who becomes a servant to support herself and dreams of a better life; she is eventually reunited with Freddie, a man from her past who has made a success of himself, and they rekindle their love. The second story, titled "Beware of Love!," centers on a woman at a ski resort who has a passionate affair with a man named Tim, but when she later encounters him as a police officer engaged to another woman, she realizes her romantic dreams will not come true and must accept that love cannot overcome life's harsh realities.
