“The Dismal Dregs of Defeat!”

In "The Dismal Dregs of Defeat!", a wrongfully imprisoned detective known only as DD must escape jail to prove his innocence after being framed for murder. With help from a clever disguise and a surprise appearance on a live TV talk show, he turns the tables on the real culprit—the Jester—setting up a dramatic showdown that unfolds before a national audience. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life with moody, dynamic art by Gene Colan, with inks by George Klein and letters by Artie Simek, the cover by Colan and Giacoia captures the tension of a man on the edge.
