Secrets of the Unknown #114
In "And in This Corner... Goliath!", a man named Chalmers stands trial for murder, his fate sealed by the jury’s certainty—until a shadowy figure steps in and alters their minds with a hypnotic spell, securing a surprising not guilty verdict. The judge is furious, but bound by law, he must release Chalmers, leaving the courtroom in confusion. When the jurors later recover and recount the incident, they describe a man so eerily familiar that the judge recognizes him as none other than the supposed victim, Sir Alfred Haines. With a young burglar soon confessing to the crime, justice seems restored—but the mystery of the hypnotist’s true identity lingers. Art by John Forte, with cover by Gene Colan and George Klein.
