“The Ghost That Trembled!”

In "The Ghost That Trembled!", Doctor Decker's plane crash in Africa leads to an unlikely bond with a small monkey named Konga and a tribe of towering natives who owe their size to a mysterious plant serum. Back in England, Decker's experiments with the seeds unleash a terrifying transformation—Konga grows into a giant, wreaking havoc across London before the military intervenes. Written by Joe Gill and illustrated with eerie precision by Steve Ditko, this classic tale of science gone awry features a haunting cover by Lou Wahl, capturing the story's eerie, otherworldly tension.

After his plane crashes in Africa, Doctor Decker is befriended by a small monkey named Konga as well as natives that stand nearly 12 feet tall. Decker discovers that the natives drink a serum concocted from seeds of a giant plant which is what causes their immense growth. Bringing Konga and some plant seeds back to England with him, Decker creates the serum and injects Konga with it. Konga grows into a gorilla and eventually into a giant that rampages through London before being destroyed by the military.
