“Murder Referees the Round!”

In "Murder Referees the Round!", the enigmatic Lightning Bug uses her Z-Rays—harnessing a mysterious electromagnetic force through her belt and cowl antennae—to orchestrate a deadly scheme from the shadows. When her rigged radios begin to kill their owners and unleash chaos, the only one who can stop her is Sargon, trapped and dragged by the very device meant to destroy him. Paul Reinman’s crisp art brings the eerie, high-stakes action to life, while H. G. Peter’s striking cover captures the menace of the masked villainess.

A scientific genius, the Lightning Bug discovers an electro-magnetic force that she calls "Z-Rays" which she can direct by means of her belt and cowl antennae. She gives out free radios as part of a hoax, one of which to Max. When Sargon touches the radio, it paralyzes him and the radio flies back to the Lightning Bug dragging him along. She imprisons him in a vacuum tube to die of suffocation while she and her gang go on a crime spree as the other radios were rigged to explode, killing their owners and leaving their homes open to looting. Sargon breaks free and captures her and her gang.
