Trailing two bank-robbers through wilderness, their bullet creases Preston's head. He orders King to take the dogs out before falling into a gorge where he is left for dead. King returns, digs Preston out from the snow and is sent to bring Constable Bill Barker for help from Elk Landing. King finds Bill jawing with Mike and Flora at the trading post. He leads Bill and Mike to Preston's team, thence to Preston, now beset by wolves. King leaps into the fray and the rescuers shoot at the wolf pack, which scatters. Preston captures the robbers holed up in the old cabin and recovers the money.
