“Chapter 2: NZIB GZPVH GSV XZPV!”

In "Chapter 2: NZIB GZPVH GSV XZPV!", Billy continues his search for answers about the mysterious alligator men, tracking them to a circus where he’s forced to act when his sister is in danger. With the help of his talking lion friend Talky Tawny, Billy confronts the threat—only to be interrupted by a towering figure claiming to be Mr. Mind, who declares his intent to destroy humanity with a partner he’s yet to find. Jeff Smith’s distinctive storytelling and art bring the eerie mystery to life, as Billy’s journey takes a shocking turn when Mary is struck by lightning and gains powers of her own.

Billy checks the circus to see if the alligators in the Monster Society are connected to the alligator men he met. Meanwhile, Dr. Sivana vows to get to the bottom of the mysterious footprints. At the circus, Billy saves his sister from the alligator men with the help of his new friend Talky Tawny, just as a giant humanoid appears at the site of the footprints. It announces itself as Mr. Mind and declares that when two companions join him, they will destroy the human race. When the first companion appears, Billy changes to Captain Marvel, but Mary is also hit by the lightning and given powers.
