Presented in black-and-white on low-cost paper, the book features the frontier adventures of the scarred bounty hunter as he faces outlaws, Native American conflicts, and supernatural threats, written by Michael Fleisher with art by Tony DeZúñiga and others. It continues the gritty, revisionist Western tone that defined Hex's early solo series.
In "The Hangman!", Jonah Hex rides into a frontier town where justice is a spectacle—public hangings draw crowds and profits, even for crimes as small as stealing a loaf of bread. As he hunts the Yellow Mask Gang, Jonah finds himself facing a town that’s built its prosperity on the gallows, and the line between law and cruelty begins to blur.
In "Bigfoot's Death Song!", Jonah Hex is drawn into a tense standoff when he’s asked to help broker a peace treaty with the Paiute nation—only to face resistance from his old rival, the unpredictable and dangerous Crazy Joe Bigfoot, whose own past with Jonah threatens to derail any chance of peace.
In "Track of the Wolf... Claw of the Bear!", Jonah Hex is hired to hunt a white wolf terrorizing a frontier town and blamed for a man's death—only to uncover a web of deception where the beast is a cover for a far darker scheme. As the trail leads deeper into the wilderness, Jonah must untangle a lie that’s as sharp as a bear’s claw and as old as the land itself.
In "Amazon Treasure... Amazon Death!", Jonah Hex awakens in the remote Venal Rubber Plantation after narrowly surviving a deadly ambush by a tribe armed with curare-tipped darts in the wilds of the Northern Amazon Basin. Convincing him to risk a return mission to rescue five kidnapped workers, the plantation’s enigmatic resident Vanessa joins him—her knowledge of the local language and terrain proving vital, though her growing unease hints at a darker truth. As they push deeper into the jungle, Jonah begins to suspect that the treasure they seek may be less a prize and more a trap.
