“How Sweet It Ain't”

In "How Sweet It Ain't," new school chef Darcy Michael shakes things up by introducing healthy eating—much to Lisa’s delight—until her ban from lunch forces her to team up with Professor Frink on his TV show to access the mythical vegetarian lunch buffet. Meanwhile, Bart turns lunchtime into a black market, smuggling sweets and junk food into Springfield Elementary to sell at premium prices. Written by Ian Boothby and illustrated by John Delaney, with Dan Davis on inks and Art Villanueva on colors, this 2010 Titan Comics issue captures the chaos of cafeteria culture through a mix of satire and heart, all framed by Jason Ho’s cover pencils and Mike Rote’s inks.
