Sissi Novelas Graficas #210
In "Yo quiero ser periodista," a quiet Sunday afternoon in 1963 unfolds with the familiar rhythms of family life—Marta lost in a novel, her parents absorbed in their routines—until her friends Dora and Coral pull her into a sudden party. There, a shy newcomer watches her from the sidelines, his quiet presence hinting at more than just a chance encounter. With gentle storytelling and expressive art by De Las Heras, this issue captures the delicate spark of connection, set against the warm, nostalgic backdrop of mid-century Spain. The cover, a vivid portrait by Edmond Fernández Ripoll, perfectly frames the moment just before everything changes.

It was a typical Sunday afternoon. Marta's father was watching soccer on the television, her mother was preparing coffee, and she was reading a passionate novel. Then Dora and Coral arrived, pleading with Marta to come to a party with them. Marta was skeptical, but finally was convinced to join them. At the party, a new young man is observing her discreetly from a chair, but does not ask her to dance. Finally, Marta is cajoled into asking him to dance. He can't dance because of a leg injury in a soccer game, but it is the beginning of a new friendship for Marta.
