Ten Gallon Tex tries to avoid Jester Jones, who’s determined to tell him a joke he’s already heard—only to realize too late that the joke is on him. The story follows the comic misadventure of a man trying to escape a punchline he never wanted to hear.

Bluster and Fluster, the bickering duo of the Western frontier, find themselves in a classic slapstick standoff when Fluster accidentally shoots himself while trying to scare off a chicken thief with a sawed-off shotgun—only to realize he’s shot the wrong end. Bluster mocks him relentlessly, challenging Fluster’s smarts with a riddle about a jackass and a bale of hay, leading to a humorous escalation that ends in Fluster getting punched.

Smiley Burnette, desperate to avoid losing his printing press, dons a series of increasingly absurd disguises—including a mask and a musical instrument that doubles as a weapon—while racing against the clock to find the missing townsmen Timothy Draggle and claim the $500 reward. As he searches, he stumbles into a web of deception when a pair of outlaws, pretending to be victims of a kidnapping, arrive in town with a far larger ransom demand, forcing Smiley to outthink them before six o’clock.

Undercover Marshal Rocky Lane, tracking a supply of rifles destined for a band of renegade Indians, must prevent the weapons from reaching the tribe while evading capture. After sabotaging the cargo and narrowly escaping a deadly ambush, he outwits a hidden outlaw at a farm, only to be captured himself—forcing a daring escape with the help of his loyal horse, Black Jack.

A townsfolk dismisses the new schoolteacher’s impressive education as silly, questioning why someone with two colleges and three degrees would teach children who can’t even read or write. The story humorously plays on the contrast between academic credentials and the practical realities of frontier life.
