"The Marks of Innocence" tells the story of Monte Hale, who discovers a locket containing a photograph of a woman and uses it to track down the killer of bandit Joe Holley. When Monte finds the locket's owner at the local post office, she reveals it belonged to her sister—a clue that leads Monte to believe the murderer is someone she knows. Meanwhile, a criminal named Brinks attempts to settle a score with rancher Colby at his barn, but Monte intercepts him and forces a confrontation that exposes the true killer's identity through the evidence of the locket.
