“Bat versus Cat”

"Bat versus Cat" is a standout entry in Smash! #20 (1966), a 7d comic that delivers a thrilling, high-stakes showdown between two unlikely adversaries. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life with dynamic energy by Jack Kirby, with inks by Dick Ayers and lettering by Artie Simek, the story unfolds with a bold twist on identity and control. The cover, a striking piece by Shelly Moldoff, captures the tension perfectly—though the real intrigue lies in the story’s central concept: a man and his monstrous alter ego now bound by science, their fates intertwined in a battle of wills.
