The third volume of Bertschy's Smax serves up the series' signature cartoon energy, with our spiky orange-haired hero grinning ear-to-ear from a salon chair while three stylists close in around him — one brandishing a hair dryer, another with a spray bottle, and a third looking decidedly unimpressed. It's a wonderfully absurd setup that captures the lighthearted, comedic spirit that makes this French series such a fun read. Fans of Glénat's roster of humorous bande dessinée will find this 2002 installment a charming addition to the shelf.
