When Mrs. Murphy discovers her daughter's arrival, she initially expresses disapproval, but her husband Pat ultimately persuades her to accept the girl and child into their home. The issue also contains single-panel gag cartoons, including one about a bridge player who didn't play his cards right and another joke illustrated with the caption "Goodness, that beer certainly turned my stomach!"
