“A Day in the Life...”

"A Day in the Life..." from Spécial Strange #1 (2022) blends cosmic mystery with grounded intrigue, as the alien Mystiko journeys through Earth’s distant past seeking enlightenment. When four Star Slavers crash-land and Darkfire assumes the identity of Dr. Tatsuki, he must navigate human society while evading detection—especially from government agent Mr. Churchin, who’s hunting a time traveler named Windom. With the help of a forgotten legacy and the enigmatic Phantom Force, Darkfire plots to reclaim his transformation serum, all while unraveling the secrets buried in the life he’s borrowed. Written by Michael Thibodeaux, Richard French, and Jean Depelley, and illustrated by Michael Thibodeaux with inks by Marty Lasick and Michael Thibodeaux, the story unfolds in colors by Richard French and Reed Man, with letters by Rhom. The striking cover, penciled by Jack Kirby and inked by Jim Lee, captures the era’s otherworldly tension.
