Space Family Robinson Lost in Space #30
In "Attack of the Plant Creatures," Captain Venture and Scotty find themselves swallowed whole by a colossal serpent, only to discover their space module still intact inside its body. With the beast's midsection no less than a twisting, gory tunnel, they fight their way out—just in time to be stranded on a storm-lashed island after a sudden squall sweeps their module into the sea. Written by Gaylord Du Bois and illustrated by Dan Spiegle, this 1968 Western Publishing adventure delivers a surprisingly visceral twist on the usual spacebound escapades, all under George Wilson’s striking cover.

Captain Venture and Scotty's space module has been swallowed by a "muckle serpent", a gigantic snake-like creature, which swiftly swallows Venture and Scotty as well. Inside the beast, they find the space module and use it to blast their way out of the snake's midsection, in a surprisingly gruesome event for a comic produced by Western Publishing. They land on a small island which is quickly beset by a fierce squall - which washes the space module out to see, leaving our heroes stranded.
