With his wife and unborn child murdered, Thaddeus is left for dead on a planet whose sole inhabitant is the engineer who devised the tech that was responsible for wiping out his people. Bach recovers and trains while using Salomon's gadgets to create a costume and weaponry to aid in his revenge. With the curses of Salomon ringing in his ears, he steals a ship and flies off to take down his family's killers.
