An anthology issue featuring three science fiction and mystery tales. "The Man in the Crowd" follows a down-on-his-luck painter approached by a mysterious stranger offering him unprecedented wealth and success if he will agree to meet again—a Faustian bargain that haunts him with supernatural consequences. "The Lost Land" depicts a fortune hunter who discovers an ancient underground civilization beneath the earth while excavating for copper, only to encounter its sole remaining inhabitant who possesses knowledge of the land's apocalyptic secret and destiny. A third story involves a man tormented by the mysterious sound of a passing train at night that only he can hear, leading him to investigate its impossible nature and discover a supernatural phenomenon tied to his past.
