"The Company of the Dead" depicts a military unit's desperate struggle during wartime. With only three platoon members remaining, the soldiers undertake a dangerous mission involving a C-82 transport plane, parachute drops of ammunition and supplies, and a crippled tank that must be repaired and returned to combat. A French girl assists PFC Reeder with a Thompson submachine gun as they face enemy forces, while the damaged tank crew fights to complete repairs and rejoin their unit despite overwhelming odds.
