Spider-Man Comics Weekly #13
"Spidey Strikes Back!" delivers a classic Marvel UK twist with a science-fueled showdown that pits Spidey against a mad scientist’s duplicating machine. When the villain kidnaps Jane to force Dr. Blake’s cooperation, the device creates a duplicate of Thor—only to reveal that magic, like Mjolnir, can’t be copied. As chaos unfolds, a fatal accident leaves behind a good version of the villain, setting up unexpected consequences. Written by Stan Lee and R. Berns, with dynamic art by Joe Sinnott and bold cover work by Rich Buckler and Mike Esposito, this 1973 5p comic blends action and irony in a story that’s both clever and surprisingly grounded.
